The
Niagara County Genealogical Society is an all volunteer organization
that was organized in January 1979 for the purpose of advancing
the study of genealogy among its members and the general public.
We are chartered by the NY Board of Regents as a non-profit educational
group.
Whether your ancestors settled here
or used it as a stopping off place, Niagara County is rich with
history of people pushing west to explore our great country. Did
your ancestors use the Erie Canal and the Niagara River to move
west? They may have left their genealogical imprint here! We are
located on the second floor of the Niagara County Historical Society
Museum at 215 Niagara Street, Lockport, NY, where we maintain
a first rate genealogical library! We love visitors and are open
to the public Thursday - Saturday 1-4:45 pm, with few exceptions.
Please see our calendar for specifics!
We are pleased to present this web
site for our friends and patrons around the world. Membership
has its benefits in the form of an outstanding quarterly newsletter,
a look-up program and if you are local, a schedule of lectures
throughout the year. For a small fee you can make a commitment
to our Society and help us expand our resources so that we can
offer them to you. Membership is open to anyone. Come visit us
today!
